I have a not-so-secret dream to sell everything we own, buy an old decrepit Southern home and spend my life restoring it to it’s former beauty. There would be a LONG tree lined driveway and you wouldn’t see another home for miles. I would drink so much rosé on that big beautiful porch, in a rocking chair of course. One day, I’m going to make it happen. But, for a little while at least, I am fulfilled by this GORGEOUS North Carolina wedding at Rose Hill Plantation. That gorgeous driveway and the big beautiful front porch overlooking the most incredibly big sky. It was a dream, and I’m so happy to have been a part of it!
I’ve know Laura’s family for longer than I haven’t known them. I owe my life to her sister Mary, we met at a science and math summer camp (we were the coolest!) in high school. A few years later, she kind of pushed me into her boyfriend’s friend Hazel and my life took a dramatic turn. She married that boyfriend and I married his friend and we’re all living happily ever after with lots of babies.
So Laura must have been about 8 or 9 when we first met. She was fun and fiery and adorable. It’s been close to a decade since I’d seen her, but very little has changed. She is vivacious and beautiful and become a lovely lady! That Will is a lucky man. These two were clearly so excited to be marrying each other and I couldn’t have been happier to be the one documenting it all. It was an absolutely perfect day, rain and bugs and all. The North Carolina sky absolutely did not disappoint and what follows is so many images because I couldn’t even cull it down any further. It was a dream, an absolute dream.
