Melanie & Jose are one of those super cool couples.  You know, like the kind that seems a bit guarded, mysterious.  You don’t get to know them right away because they let out tiny bits of themselves as everyone settles in and gets comfortable.  And I’m absolutely the opposite.  I’m pretty much in your face the moment we meet.  Everything about me tumbles out of my mouth quickly.  It’s so nice to come up against your own opposite.  To remember to slow down and seep instead of tumble. 

I was really looking forward to our engagement shoot.  I was hoping to get to know them better.  And I was THRILLED that they wanted to shoot in my neighborhood!  They got engaged in New York and felt that the metro system here really conjured that Big Apple feeling.  They also wanted to bring their dog and shoot with some nature.  Both are within a mile of my house! I haven’t shot here since my very first Forever After session with some close friends in what seems like forever ago.  Chris and I walk the ‘hood frequently, so I’m always seeing nooks and crannies that I’d like to shot, and I finally got to do it! 

Melanie & Jose - I’m crazy looking forward to your wedding.  To getting to know you better and to seeing you take the next step in your relationship.  It will be absolutely beautiful (and, fingers crossed, slightly cooler!)  See you next month!
