You know how the cobblers’ children have no shoes? It seems the photographers’ family has no photos. Chris and I get so wrapped up in our work and our house and our general lives that we never take the time to document it. Our lives are spent documenting other peoples’ lives and it never seems important to take care of our own. We get the opportunity to photograph the most important days in our clients’ lives. Our everyday lives don’t seem as important. The last photo of us was taken in Hawaii. IN MARCH!

It’s nice, yeah? I especially love how we COMPLETELY missed the focus. Nice. We were trying to take pictures of ourselves on the beach and well, it didn’t quite work out.
These past few months we’ve both been working crazy hard. I shoot constantly and Chris is on the road. And when he’s not on the road he’s in the office until nearly 8 pm or he’s working hard for me. Life has seemed to run away from us recently. I forget how important our everyday lives are. How important this time between the two of is. How we should really document the little things. So, in an effort to slow down and relax, we’re going to take a quick weekend in San Francisco. It’s our first shootless weekend since July and it happens to be our five year dating anniversary. I am crazy silly excited. Giddy excited. We’re going to sleep in and walk around the city with no agenda and no plans. It will be glorious.
And, I’m going to make an enormous effort to document it. To maybe get at least one fabulous image of the two of us. Maybe even one that we could hang on the wall.
I’ll be back in the office on Monday… feeling relaxed and refreshed and reinvigorated. Kisses.
