Approximately one million years ago, Carey & I freshman at Wake Forest University. It’s a small campus, and we lived in the same dorm, but we likely would have just passed each other in the hallways during our time there, maybe sat across from each in a class or two. But in January, we were lucky enough to pledge the same sorority. So, instead of passing each other on the quad with that vague sense of familiarity, Carey became my sister. We spent three years together, dancing at formals and singing at recruitment and drinking really really bad champagne. It was one of the most amazing and ridiculous (see the photo below for a little peek into that) times in my life and I’m so happy to have Carey a part of so many of those memories.
But a decade has quickly passed me by (what!?), and I’m so so so bad at keeping in touch. So when I saw her name in my inbox I nearly fell out of my chair. She’d met a wonderful man and was getting married. She wanted me to come to Virginia to doucment it all and I was so incredibly thrilled! Done & done.
Carey & Brian were married at the Westfields Marriott, a gorgeous hotel in Chantilly, Virginia. The leaves are just changing and the yellows & oranges & reds absolutely took my breath away. The hotel perfectly embodies that perfect southern grace & charm and it was such a lovely backdrop for their sweet ceremony. They were married under these beautiful trees, just starting to change their colors. Their reception was one of those perfect dance parties, with guests on the dance floor all night long. It was so much fun, and Carey & Brian were absolutely brimming with excitement and happiness!
Carey & Brian – Congratulations! I am so happy for the two of you and I am so honored to have been there to capture it all. Thank you so much for your hospitality and your trust. It was an incredible day and we had so much fun! I hope that Jamaica is wonderful and that you’re relaxing so hard! Congrats!
