I have been looking forward to this wedding for months. It’s been a goal of mine to start shooting outside of Southern California, and this year it’s happening, starting in New York with two of my favorites, Nathan & Anna. Again, just like their engagement session, I worried so much about the weather. I worried about getting to NY with all of my equipment and my clothes. I worried about driving through New York City to get out to the venue. All good worries though, forcing myself to stretch a little bit, realize that I can try something new, something that I’m not entirely comfortable with and make it all work. And it was incredible.
Nathan & Anna were married out at the Warwick Valley Winery in New York, one of the most gorgeous settings I’ve ever shot. Rolling hills and such lushness. Something we just don’t get out here in LA, land of the desert! The weather was incredible, and as the sunset dipped behind the hills I realized that SoCal isn’t the only place with absolutely superb light.
Anna was glowing. Like, light was actually coming from her face, illuminating everything. And Nathan was giddy happy. Couldn’t stop smiling. Their first look was one of those moments that make me so happy to be a photographer. Watching them together, seeing them holding hands and stealing glances at each other, such a perfect day. And I am so happy to have been a part of it.
Nathan & Anna – it was an honor and a pleasure. I am so thrilled for the two of you and so happy to call you friends. So many congratulations!
